reblogthis was my first tattoo that I got only a month after turning 18 (April ‘11). I went to http://stevestattoo.com/home.html in Madison, WI, and was inked the same day I made the appointment by Lenny. I chose this tattoo (the entirety of a poem by e.e. cummings) for a reason that’s hard to put into words. I’ve always loved literature because reading has always been very easy for me-this, I recently discovered, is because I’m a synesthete. This particular poem was the first piece of writing I was able to really link to my “ability” of sorts, which some consider a neurological mishap. I read it the first time with ease, and the poem stuck. Without memorizing it, I was able to conjure up mental images like technicolor dreams by just remembering the way it felt to read it. While this may sound cliche, I am trying my hardest to describe a physical sensation, the images produced by my mind’s eye; I submit my ink to fyeahtattoos because I think my story and my tattoo are unique (I’ve seen many a-tattoo dedicated to e.e. cummings, most of them the same poems or the same excerpts), and I hope my story can be shared with other people looking for the right kind of inspiration for a tattoo. I know I’ll never regret this addition :)

To be honest, pomegranates freak me out a little bit. I love them and they are delicious, but freaky looking.

We have a pet overpopulation there is no need to buy your future pet. Buying animals creates a demand that leads millions of animals to be euthanized every year. Not only are there plenty of animals and purebred animals, if you must, in shelters, but by buying, you are directly causing the death of animals by even furthering the animal overpopulation. This is a purely human created problem. It is one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen, being in an animal shelter and these animals all they want is for someone to love them and take care of them. It is even worse when they are killed just because we humans refuse to stop breeding them. Please, adopt. Never ever buy. There are plenty of lovely animals in shelters. I promise.
